This vintage Valentine from the Labyrinthos archive was sent to Master Layton Blake in St. Albans, Vermont in 1917 – exactly 100 years ago (back when you could still get a postage stamp for a penny)!
As you can see, the significance of a maze was clearly understood, and we love the subtle connection to Ariadne with the ball of red thread/yarn in the young girl’s arms – and Jeff can certainly relate to yarn-holding task being carried out by her young paramour.
Love never goes out of style…. Happy Valentine’s Day from Labyrinthos!
